Wartung/Warnleuchte
Das Airbagsystem überwacht die Funktions-
bereitschaft von Zündern, Sensoren, Warn-
leuchte, Steuerungselektronik und Diagnose-
gerät selbst.
Eventuell auftretende Störungen
durch die Warnleuchte im Kombiinstrument
angezeigt. Mit dem Einschalten der Zündung
leuchtet ca. 5 Sekunden lang die Airbag-
Warnleuchte.
In folgenden Fällen sollten sie unverzüglich
einen PORSCHE-Vertragshändler aufsuchen,
um die Funktionsbereitschaft zu
leisten:
• Aufleuchten der Airbag-Warnleuchte wäh-
rend der Fahrt oder wiederholtes Aufleuch-
ten nach 5 Sekunden bei eingeschalteter
Zündung.
• Airbag-Warnleuchte leuchtet beim Einschal-
ten der Zündung nicht auf.
Zur Kontrolle der Funktionsbereitschaft ist
das Airbagsystem nach 4, 8 und 10 Jahren
- danach alle 2 Jahre - bei Ihrem
PORSCHE-Vertragshändler zu überprüfen.

Maintenance/Warning lights
The airbag system also monitors the correct
functioning of the ignition devices, sensors,
warning lights, control electronics and diag-
nostic instrument.
Any faults are immediately indicated by the
warning light on the instrument cluster. When
the ignition is switched on, the airbag warning
lights up for about 5 seconds.
In the following cases, you should consult
your Official PORSCHE Centre without delay
to have any malfunctions rectified:
• The airbag warning lights up while you are
driving or lights up repeatedly with the igni-
tion switched on after the 5 seconds have
elapsed.
• The airbag warning lamp does not light up
when the ignition is switched on.
To check that it is working properly, the
airbag system should be checked after 4, 8
and 10 years of service - and every two
years thereafter - by
PORSCHE Centre.
Sicherheits- und Entsorgungsvorschriften
Die Auslösung des Airbag erfordert eine un-
verzügliche Überprüfung bzw.
des Systems durch einen PORSCHE-Ver-
tragshändler.
An der Verkabelung bzw. an Bauteilen des
Airbagsystems dürfen keine Veränderungen
vorgenommen werden; keine zusätzlichen
Verkleidungen oder Aufkleber am Lenkrad
und im Bereich des Beifahrer-Airbag anbrin-
werden

Keine Kabelverlegung von elektrischen Zu-
satzeinrichtungen in der Nähe des Airbag-
Kabelstranges vornehmen.
Lassen Sie Störungen nur bei einem
PORSCHE-Vertragshändler beheben.

Ungezündete Gasgeneratoren bzw. ganze
Fahrzeuge oder Baugruppen mit Airbag-
Einheiten dürfen nicht in den „normalen"
Schrott, Abfall oder sonstige Endlagerung
gelangen.

hierüber gerne Auskunft.
Wichtig: Sollten Sie Ihren Porsche verkaufen,
informieren Sie den Käufer darüber, daß das
Fahrzeug mit „Airbag" ausgerüstet ist und
weisen Sie ihn auf das Kapitel „Airbag-Sy-
stem" in der Betriebsanleitung hin (Sicher-
heits- und Entsorgungsvorschriften).
Safety and disposal instructions
Once the airbag has been triggered, it should
be checked or replaced immediately at an Of-
ficial PORSCHE Centre.
No modifications should be made to the wir-
ing or components of the airbag system; do
not attach any additional trim or stickers to
the steering wheel or in the vicinity of the pas-
senger's airbag.
Do not lay any extra cables for additional
electrical equipment in the vicinity of the
airbag wiring.
Leave the elimination of all faults to an Of-
ficial PORSCHE Centre.
Non-ignited gas generators, or whole ve-
hicles or subassemblies with airbag units
must not be disposed of as normal scrap
or waste.
Your Official PORSCHE Centre will be able to
give you details on disposal.
Important: If you sell your Porsche, tell the
buyer that the vehicle is fitted with an airbag
and refer him to the chapter "Airbag system"
in the Driver's Manual (Safety and disposal in-
your Official
structions).
