Airbagsystem

„Airbag" stellt in Verbindung mit dem.Sicher-
heitsgurt ein passives Sicherheitssystem dar,
das dem Fahrer und Beifahrer größtmöglichen
Schutz vor Unfallverletzungen bietet.
Das Airbagsystem setzt sich aus folgenden
4 Hauptgruppen zusammen:
- Luftsack mit Gasgenerator (Airbag-Einheit)
- Steuerungselektronik
- Aufprallsensoren
- Elektrische Verkabelung
Die Aufprallsensoren geben bei einem Auf-

Airbag system
In conjunction with the seatbelt, the airbag is
a passive safety system designed to provide
the driver and passenger maximum protection
from accident injury.
The airbag system consists of the following 4
main elements:
- Airbag with gas generator (airbag unit)
- Control electronics
- Crash sensors
- Electrical wiring

Beim Zündvorgang wird der im Gasgenerator
befindliche Festtreibstoff in Sekundenbruch-
teilen verbrannt. Durch diese Verbrennung

notwendige Gasmenge und der nötige Gas-
druck erzeugt.
Der Luftsack befindet sich auf der Fahrerseite
unter der Lenkradpolsterplatte und auf der
Beifahrerseite unter der Polsterung oberhalb
des Handschuhkastens. Die Gefahr einer
Sichtbehinderung durch das Aufblähen des
Luftsackes ist aufgrund der schnellen Entlee-
rung ohne Bedeutung. Gleichermaßen geht
der Zündknall im Unfallgeschehen unter.

systems und bei Unfallarten, die nicht ein un-
mittelbares Auslösen des Systems bewirken,
leisten die richtig angelegten Sicherheitsgurte
einen hohen Beitrag zum Insassenschutz. Alle
