RS-232 Service Port

Located on the RAID Controller face plate you will find an RS-232 serial port
labeled Service Port. This serial interface uses a USB-type connector and requires
a custom USB to DB-9 cable. It provides the means to use a terminal or terminal
emulation to access the firmware based utility program. The onboard software
allows monitoring of enclosure components via the SES processor, performing
controller firmware updates, and maintenance.
Below are the pin signals for this connector. The data communication cable is
provided with the enclosure. Should the need arise to test the cable or replicate
it, the pin out information for the interface and cable are provided below, and on
the following page.
CAUTION:
This is not a standard USB connection. Do not connect a standard
USB cable to the Service Port.
