Troubleshooting

This chapter provides typical solutions for problems you may encounter while
operating the NexStor 4900F Series RAID Storage System.

General Enclosure Problems

Fails to power on.
Symptom
(AC PSU) Power cord(s) not
connected properly.
(AC PSU) Power not
available at the outlet.
(DC PSU) Power cable(s)
not connected properly.
Power switch not in the
proper position.
Reason
(AC PSU) Verify that the power cord is
properly connected to the power
module.
(AC PSU) If the enclosure is plugged
into a three-hole grounded outlet,
verify that power to the outlet has not
been interrupted. This can be
accomplished by testing the outlet
with a known working appliance, like
a lamp.
(DC PSU) Verify that each power cable
is properly connected to the DC
power feed system. Refer to "Optional
DC Hot Swappable Power Supplies"
on page 5 and "Cabling the DC Power
Supplies" on page 54 for details.
Ensure that the DC power site is
correct refer to "DC Source Site
Requirements" on page 5.
Be sure that the power switch is in the
"On" position, labeled with an "I."
