(3) Steering Cylinder

Removing Tie-rod End
CAUTION
• Since power steering cylinder is full of high-pressured
transmission oil, the high-pressured oil is injected out from
hose joints by pushing the front wheel.
• This injected oil can penetrate the skin or eyes causing
serious injury.
• Use appropriate protective wear to prevent serious injury.
• Use waste to cover the hose joints.
• Before disassembling, drain steering oil from power
steering cylinder.
1. Remove the steering cylinder cover mounting bolts (1). Remove
the steering cylinder cover (4).
2. Disconnect the power steering hoses (5) from the hose joints (6).
3. Remove the set bolt (8).
4. Place a disassembling stand under the engine and support it with
a jack.
5. Pull out the split pins (10) from the tie-rod end slot nuts (2).
Remove the tie-rod and slot nuts (2) from the tie-rod ends (3).
6. Remove the tie-rods with a tie-rod end lifter (Code No. 07909-
39051).
(When reassembling)
• Split the split pins as shown in the figure.
• Tighten the tie-rod end slot nuts to the specified tightening
torque.
