[5] STEERING CYLINDER

(1) Tie-rod
(2) Piston Rod
The steering cylinder is a single piston both rod double-acting type. This steering cylinder is installed parallel to
the front axle and connected to tie-rods. (The above figure is shown for 4 wheel drive model. Refer to TRACTOR
MECHANISM workshop manual for 2 wheel drive model.)
The tie-rods connected to both knuckle arms guarantee an equal steering movement to both front wheels.
The steering cylinder provides force in both directions. Depending on turning direction of the steering wheel,
pressure oil enters at one end of the cylinder to extend, or at the other end to retract to operate front wheels of the
tractor.
