10.12 CUTTING A WARPED WORKPIECE
See Figures 32 and 33.
When cutting a warped workpiece, always make sure it is positioned on the mitre table with the convex side against
the fence as shown in Figure 32.
If the warped workpiece is positioned the wrong way as shown in Figure 33, it will pinch the blade near the completion
of the cut.
WARNING: To avoid kickback and serious personal injury, never put the concave edge of a bowed or warped
workpiece against the fence.

10.13 CLAMPING WIDE WORKPIECES

When cutting wide workpieces such as 50 mm (2") x 150 mm (6") boards, these should be clamped with a G-clamp
as shown in Figure 34.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: To ensure safety and reliability and avoid the risk of personal injury, all repairs — except those involving
the externally accessible carbon brushes — should be performed by a qualified service technician at an Authorised
Ryobi Service Centre.
11.1

BRUSH REPLACEMENT

See Figure 35.
Your saw has externally accessible carbon brushes that should be periodically checked for wear.
Proceed as follows to replace the carbon brushes:
Unplug your saw.
Type of Cut
Left side, inside corner
1. Position top of crown moulding against fence.
2. Mitre table set right 31.62°.
3. Keep left end after cutting.
Right side, inside corner
1. Position bottom of crown moulding against fence.
2. Mitre table set left 31.62°.
3. Keep left end after cutting.
Left side, outside corner
1. Position bottom of crown moulding against fence.
2. Mitre table set left 31.62°.
3. Keep right end after cutting.
Right side, outside corner
1. Position top of crown moulding against fence.
2. Mitre table set right 31.62°.
3. Keep right end after cutting.
