Provision the Default Gateway
To provision the default gateway, complete the following procedure:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type ip default-gateway A.B.C.D , and

The default gateway must match the gateway address of either the Inband or
Ethernet interface, which is typically the router to which the interface is
connected.
3. Type end , and press E
Provision the S-tag Tag Protocol Identifier (TPID)
The S‐tag TPID is typically a function of the type of external switch or router that is connected
to the GigE SM. If not set, set the S‐tag TPID to the desired value. The S‐tag TPID indicates the
Ethertype used to identify the S‐VLAN tags. To change the S‐tag TPID, complete the following
procedure:
1. From the Enable prompt, type configure terminal , and press E
2. From the Global Configuration prompt, type ethernet s-tag-tpid HHHH , and press
NOTE
• The valid TPID ranges are 0x8000‐0xFFFF using 4 hexadecimal digits.
• The default TPID value is 0x8100.
3. Type end , and press E
