Log On to the NetVanta 8044

Access the management and provisioning features for the NetVanta 8044 products by
Command Line Interface (CLI) using a standard DB‐9 serial cable to connect to the console
port located on the unit. The CLI may also be accessed via Telnet over the Inband
Management VLAN.

CRAFT Port Login

To establish CLI communication with the product, complete the following procedure:
1. Connect to the craft interface using a VT100 terminal or PC with VT100 emulation soft‐

NOTE
The account name and password are case sensitive. Default accounts are
ADMIN, READONLY, READWRITE, and TEST. The default password for
each of these accounts is PASSWORD. The privilege to change passwords,
account names, and privileges are included in the ADMIN account.

Remote Access Login

To remotely access the NetVanta 8044, open a telnet in the management VLAN that was set up
in the subtended host configuration.
