NCTE Ethernet OAM Example Using Component 2

In the following example, the user is creating a level 6 MD in the customer network which is
encapsulated by an s‐tag and is transparent across the provider network. Up MEPs will
transmit/receive CFM messages with the c‐tag defined by Component 2 of the Maintenance
Association. Due to the rules of the EVC and EVC‐map, these messages will have the s‐tag
stacked before egressing the MEN‐port. For the Up MEPs to become active, the EVC‐map
matching on CE‐VLAN‐ID 200 must be in the Running state. The MA has two endpoints
(NCTE A and NCTE B). The user is creating a single MA with VLAN 200. NCTE A has a MEP
with a MEPID of 600 and NCTE B has a MEP with a MEPID of 601. The CCM interval is not
explicitly configured so the default CCM interval of 1‐second will be used.
