Safety Instructions
For your personal safety and protection you should never use the base station or any mobile
units in the bath or other wet environment. The devices are not water proof.
Use only Nickel Cadmium batteries (NiCd batteries)
(see "Important Information for Using Batteries" , (page 16).
Never use other chargeable batteries or normal (non chargeable) batteries.
These batteries could cause a short circuit or the battery coating could be damaged
(dangerous). Please observe the information labels in the battery compartment of the
mobile unit and battery chargers.
The symbols on the labels display the following:
- (see chapter "Inserting and Charging the Batteries", page 15)
use only the type described in User Instructions
- use only chargeable batteries with the pole direction
Never put the batteries in water or in fire.
Do not dispose of defective batteries with normal household garbage.
During the charging process the batteries will get warm. This is normal and is not
dangerous.
Do not use foreign battery chargers, as this could damage the batteries.
Siemens provides the correct battery chargers.
Use only the included AC power adapter C 39280-Z4-C65.
The accessory devices connected with a cord (telephone, fax, intercoms....) that
contain open metal surfaces could collect unacceptably high levels of electric energy
for short periods of time, i.e. during a thunderstorm. Therefore, do not touch them.
Do not use the mobile unit in the proximity of explosives.
Certification for Base Station and Telephone Equipment
This telephone system has been certified by the BZT "Federal Office for the Certification of Tele-
communications" (Bundesamt für Zulassungen in der Telekommunikation). It was certified
based on the EU regulation 91/263/EWG Telecommunication End User Devices.
It may be connected to and operated from any Euro-ISDN network and installation.
The conformance of this device with the above mentioned regulations is certified through the CE
symbol.

and to the national amendments in Germany and France.
