[5] INSUFFICIENT FUEL
Insufficient fuel is detected by the fuel limit sensor
(thermistor) installed in the fuel tank.
(1) Fuel Unit
Fuel Limit Sensor (Thermistor)
Thermistor is a kind of resistor whose resistance
varies with the temperature.
It has a large resistance in fuel as it is cooled. But in
the air, it is heated by flowing current, and as the
temperature rises, the resistance decreases, which in
turn further increases the current and decreases the
resistance. After a certain period of time, calorific values
(temperature) of heat radiation and heat generation are
balanced. (Testing must be done under this equilibrium.)
