Checks
Does the Add Paper indicator
remain on?
Does the lifter drop when the
cassette is slid out, and does the
lifter motor rotate when the
cassette is slid in?
Is the belt for drive attached
properly?
Is the right door fully closed?
Is the right door locking the verti-
cal path rollers 1 and 2 in place?
Open the right door, and press the
Copy Start key with a screwdriver
set in the door switch. Do the
vertical path roller 1 (CL5) and 2
(CL6) rotate?
Is the leading edge of the copy
paper as far as the registration
roller?
Open the right door, and press the
Copy Start key with a screwdriver
set in the door switch. Does the
feeding/separation roller rotate?
Set the meter to the 100VDC
range, and connect the probes of
the meter to the following
connectors on the DC controller
PCB. Does the voltage change
from about 0 to 24 V when the
Copy Start key is pressed?

Find out which sensor has detect-
ed the jam in service mode ([1]
No.109). Is the sensor normal?

mode and instructions on how to
check photointerrupers.)

See "The Add Paper
indicator fails to turn off."
See "The lifter fails to
move up."
Re-attach the belt.
Close the door.
Check the locking
spring.
Check the wiring; if
normal, replace the
faulty clutch.
See "The registration
roller fails to rotate."
Go to step 10.
Check the wiring; if
normal, replace the
faulty clutch.
Replace the DC
controller PCB.
Check the wiring and the
lever; if normal, replace
the sensor.
Remove the pick-up
assembly, and check the
springs and gears.
