Installing a PCI or PCI-X adapter

Complete the following steps to install a PCI/PCI-X adapter.
1. Read "Safety information" on page 147 and "Installation guidelines" on page 29.
2. If the adapter is not hot-pluggable, turn off the server and peripheral devices,
3. Remove the server cover (see "Removing the cover and bezel" on page 32) and

d. Carefully grasp the adapter by its top edge or upper corners, and align it
with the connector on the PCI-X board.
e. If necessary remove the extension handles or bracket before installing a
long adapter.
