Light path LED
CPU (failed microprocessor)
Note: Verify correct installation
sequence; see "Installing a
microprocessor" on page 44.
PCI (fault on PCI)
MEM (memory failure)
DASD (fault in hard disk drive or
SCSI backplane)
Note: If RAID system, refer to
Hardware Maintenance Manual for
the specific RAID adapter.
NR (nonredundancy lost)
Note: "Information" LED may also
be lit.
NMI (nonmaskable interrupt)
Note: PCI or MEM LEDs may also
be lit.
SP (service processor fault)
EXP (device in remote expansion
enclosure has failed)
Notes:
1. If the amber status LED is on
indicating a problem with a
device in the remote expansion
enclosure, replace the device.
2. Check server error log for
indications of a failure in a
device installed in the remote
expansion enclosure or in the
expansion enclosure itself. If
the log indicates a problem in
the expansion enclosure, see
the problem-solving information
in the expansion enclosure
documentation.

FRU/action
1. Check event log to determine location of failing LED (microprocessor).
2. Find failing microprocessor by checking LEDs on microprocessor tray
assembly.
Note: If LED is not visible with microprocessor tray assembly installed,
remove assembly and light the failing microprocessor's LED by pressing the
light path diagnostics button (see "Installing a microprocessor" on page 44).
3. Microprocessor 1-4.
4. Microprocessor tray assembly.
1. Check System Error log.
2. Failing adapter.
3. I/O board.
1. Check event log to determine location of failing LED (DIMM).
2. DIMM.
3. Memory cassette.
1. Failing drive (reseat/replace).
2. Be sure the fans are operating correctly and the air flow is good.
3. SCSI backplane.
1. If PS x LED is lit on light path diagnostics panel, follow instructions
for that LED.
2. Failing power supply.
1. See System-Error log.
2. If a PCI LED is on, follow the instructions for that LED.
3. If MEM LED is on, follow the instructions for that LED.
4. Restart the server.
1. See System-Error log.
2. Remote Supervisor Adapter II (reseat/replace).
3. I/O board.
1. Check System-Error log (if log indicates a temperature problem and fans
are working correctly, check for air flow blockage).
2. Check light path on remote expansion enclosure.
3. Replace indicated device.
