Upgrading G350 or G700 Media Gateways and LSPs (if being
used)
Note:
If the customer has no G350 or G700 Media Gateways or no local survivable
Note:
processors (LSPs), skip these tasks and go to

If the configuration is using G350 or G700 Media Gateways and media modules and newer
firmware exists for them, you must upgrade the firmware on them first. If the media server is the
primary controller for a G700 Media Gateway equipped with a local survivable processor (LSP),
you must upgrade the software on the LSPs (S8300) before you transfer control to the S8710
Media Servers. The correct order is:
1. Upgrade media gateway firmware to latest version.
2. Upgrade media modules firmware to latest version.
3. Upgrade S8300 Media Server software to latest version if using LSPs.
4. Transfer control to the S8710 Media Server.

Although the LSPs remain registered with the primary controller, the LSPs will not
