Chapter 6: IP interface configuration

IPSI address configuration

The IPSI circuit pack gets an IP address in one of two ways:
Using static IP addressing, if a nondedicated (public) control network through the
customer's network.
Or
Using dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP), if a dedicated (private) control network

Important:
Server (ESS) option must use static addressing for the ESS to provide service to
the PN.
For the TN2312BP IPSI circuit packs to receive IP addresses dynamically, you first must assign
the switch ID and cabinet number to each IPSI circuit pack. The switch ID is A through J. The
cabinet number is 01 through 64. For G650 Media Gateways, a cabinet is defined as one or
more media gateways connected by TDM cable. This cabinet configuration is called a
G650-rack-mount-stack.
Note:
You must start step 2 within 5 seconds after inserting the circuit pack.
Note:
1. Fully insert the TN2312BP IPSI circuit pack. If necessary, reseat the circuit pack to start
the programming sequence.

For the following step, do not use a graphic pencil.
