The maximum limits for the data-rate are 18kbps to 25Mbps. The actual minimum and maximum
data rates are dependent on Framing mode, Interface type, Modulation type and FEC Code Rate.
If the user changes any of the higher-priority parameters – causing the data rate to become invalid
– the Data Rate is adjusted automatically. The upper range of data rate will also be dictated by
the FAST option(s) installed.
When configured for D&I or IDR framing or for G.703 interface type, the

comment is shown to indicate that E1 Fixed Channel Mode will be implemented.
When G.703 is used, three auxiliary rates (512, 1024 and 2048 kbps) will also be available and are
indicated by the word AUX appearing to the right of the decimal place (for example: 00512.AUX
kbps). For information on how to connect the cables for the AUX G.703 data rates, refer to the IDI /
DDO connectors section of the table in Section 1.3.1.2 Rear Panel (Chapter 1.
INTRODUCTION).
In QDI (Quad D&I) mode, these data rates are read-only! The data rate will be the sum of the
tributary rates for all ports, and must be edited via the QDI menu.
The bottom line permits the user to select the Data Inversion feature (added for compatibility with
certain older equipment). Select either On or Off using the
