Clearing Mishandled Paper

When a paper misfeed occurs during printing, the Jam Position Screen dis-
plays with the message "Mishandled paper/ Please remove paper following
a guide", code number(s) to indicate misfeed area(s), and instructions for
clearing mishandled paper.
The [Start] LED turns orange on the control panel, and machine operation
cannot be continued until all the locations are cleared.
When clearing mishandled paper, heed the following precautions.
- Do not turn off the main power switch and sub power switch while remov-
ing mishandled paper, otherwise the trays or fixing conveyance unit can-
not be withdrawn.
- If paper misfeed occurs in the feeding inlet/outlet of the main body, the
lever M4 cannot be turned down rightward to draw out the fixing convey-
ance unit. Never turn it down forcibly.
- When removing mishandled paper, be sure to leave not torn paper inside
the machine.
