Options
This appendix describes the hardware options available to MicroYAX 3100
and VAXserver 3100 systems.
C.1 Adding Memory
Optional memory modules can be added to MicroVAX 3100 and VAXserver
3100 systems.
NOTE:
Additional memory modules must be installed by DIGITAL Field
Service personnel only.
There are three memory modules available: 4Mb, 12Mb, and 16Mb
modules. The 4Mb and 12Mb modules are physically the same. The 16Mb
module is slightly larger than the other two and it contains two additional
connectors that allow one of the other two memory modules to be connected
piggyback style. This piggyback connection allows the 4Mb and 12Mb
modules to increase the total memory in the system to 24Mb and 32Mb
(including 4Mb on the system module). The additional memory expansion
modules are shown in Table C-1:
