The eight asynchronous lines are available as eight MMJ ports via a
H3104 cable concentrator and 36-pin asynchronous cable supplied with
the DSH32-B communications module.
• SCSI connectability-Small Computer Systems Interconnect (SCSI) is
an industry standard for connecting mass storage devices.
• Add-on Storage Devices-Table 1-2 shows the external expansion boxes
which can be purchased to provide extra storage capability.

The range of options available to MicroVAX 3100 and VAXserver
3100 systems provide many different system configurations. These
configurations are divided into two main categories, packaged systems and
base systems. The configuration categories are defined as follows:
• Packaged systems are predefined system configurations. Additional
factory integrated options ordered by the prospective Owner must be
installed by Field Service personnel.
• Base systems are minimum system configurations which the Owner can
enhance by selecting desired options when ordering. These options are
installed in the factory.
