Your workstation comes with 8 megabytes of memory built in. By adding
memory modules, you can increase the amount of memory in your system to as
much as 40 megabytes.
10.1 Adding Memory to Your Workstation
Touching the contacts that run along the bottom of a memory module
can damage or destroy the module.
Don't touch anything inside the system unit until you put on the
antistatic wrist strap provided by Digital. See Figure 1–5.
Inside the system unit are the two pairs of connectors that hold your
workstation's memory modules. They can hold either 2-megabyte or
8-megabyte modules. You can tell which type you have by looking at the
location of the nine-digit etched part number on the module.
