Unable to Scan

The table below lists possible solutions when you are unable to scan.
The document is
not fed properly
through the
document feeder.

Unable to Load Scan Data to a Computer

The table below lists possible solutions when you are unable to load a scanned document to
a computer.
Unable to find the
scanner.

Possible Cause
The document size is too
small.
The document is not a
supported type.
The document guides are
misaligned.
There are document shreds
stuck in the document feeder.
Symptom
Possible Cause
The machine's power is not
ON.
The computer's USB cable is
disconnected.
The machine's USB cable is

The scan driver is not
installed.
Is the file size too large?
Remedy
The minimum size of document that can be
loaded on the document feeder is A5
The document feeder does not support
warped documents, business cards,
transparencies, thin documents, or
documents with attached stick-on notes,
paper clips or tape.
Refer to "Paper Types" (P.82).
Align the document guides properly to match
the document size.
Refer to "Placing the Document" (P.116).
Open the document feeder cover, and
remove the document shreds.
Refer to "Document Jams" (P.234).
Remedy
Switch the machine's power ON.
Refer to "Power Source" (P.64).
Reconnect the computer's disconnected USB
cable.
Refer to "Interface Cables" (P.30).
Reconnect the machine's disconnected USB
cable.
Refer to "Interface Cables" (P.30).
Install the scan driver.
Lower the resolution setting, and then try
loading the data again.
