• Restart the printer and leave the Test Mode.
Refer to the Intermec Shell Overview in Appendix 1 or in the User's
Guide.
If the printer works normally in the Test Mode, it is likely that the
malfunction is either due to communication problems, abnormal
conditions at the site of operation, or a custom-made program.
Fingerprint and IPL
Use this short-list to fi nd the symptom that applies to the printer:
Symptom
• No reaction at power up
• Printer stops working after startup
• CPU board failures
• Power supply unit failures
• Console errors
• Error messages
• No communication (general)
• No serial communication
• Sensor malfunctions
- Label stop sensor
- Headlift sensor
- Label taken sensor
- Ribbon end sensor
• Printing troubles
- No printout at all
- Overall weak printout
- Weaker printout on either inner or other part of label
- Overall dark printout (bleeding)
- Weak or missing printout of some dots
- Unexpected black printout (completely or partially)
- Only fi rst part of label printed
- Media feed does not work properly
• Ribbon troubles
- Transfer ribbon breaks
- Transfer ribbon wrinkles
- No transfer printout
• Liner takeup troubles
• Memory card troubles
• Paper cutter troubles
