C. 2 Vehicle operation

The suction nozzle (3) (adjustable in height) sucks in the waste that has been collected by the brushes (2 and 4).The suction fan (8) in the hopper (5) ensures that
there is a lower pressure in the hopper, which causes a flow of air. This flow of air then sucks the waste into the hopper (5) via the suction nozzle (3) and the suction
tube (9).
Water spray nozzles are located in the suction nozzle (3).These water spray nozzles have an important function. The water binds the waste and, as a result, the waste
remains in the hopper (5) better.Very fine waste without water as a binding agent may be blown out of the machine again. Moreover, the water serves as a lubricant
which helps reduce wear and contamination.
Water spray nozzles are also located at the brushes (2 and 4). These water spray nozzles are important to stop clouds of dust being formed when sweeping in dry
conditions. It is, therefore, not necessary to use these sprays during damp weather conditions.
As a result of the construction that has been chosen for the hopper and the suction system, the waste will collect at the back of the hopper (5).In this way, the maximum
capacity of the hopper is used.
The grilles (7) and the suction fan (8) that provides the suction force are located at the top of the hopper. The excess air is expelled by the suction fan (8) at the rear
(6) of the hopper (5).
