E. 8 Instructions and tips for sweeping

WARNING
ALWAYS ENSURE THAT CLEAN AND FRESH WATER IS USED DURING SWEEPING OPERATIONS.UNFRESH, BRACKISH WATER MAY CAUSE DAMAGE
TO HEALTH.PREVENT BACTERIAL INFECTIONS BY REGULARLY RINSING THE WATER SYSTEM THROUGH WITH CLEAN WATER.
• Always ensure that the sweeping unit is properly adjusted. This helps improve the quality of the sweeping and helps prevent unnecessary wear
• Always sweep using enough spraywater, which has the effect of effectively binding together the dust and dirt particles.Stop sweeping immediately if the spraywater
level buzzer is activated, and check the spray water indicator to confirm whether or not the spray water tank is actually empty. If the tank is empty, binding of
vacuumed dust will cease and this may cause it to be expelled again by the fan.Furthermore, the water sprayers in the suction nozzle may become clogged,
resulting in extra wear of the suction nozzle and suction tube.
• For larger particles of dirt or leaves, open the suction nozzle further.
• Where the road surface is heavily contaminated with heavy dirt (such as sand or stones), it is recommended that the area is swept twice. On the first sweep, keep
the suction nozzle flap a little higher. On the second sweep, keep the suction nozzle flap down (normal position), and maintain a higher sweeping speed.Sweeping
twice at a higher speed will produce a better result than sweeping once at a lower speed.
• Where the road surface is heavily contaminated with light dirt (such as leaves, scraps of paper), sweeping is most effective with a slightly raised suction nozzle flap.
• A new brush is best fitted on the gutter side (usually the right-hand side). It is on this side where wear is the greatest. If the brush is only half worn, fit it to the left-
hand side, and fit a new brush to the right-hand side.
• When sweeping around parked vehicles or other objects, it is important to minimise the unswept length of the gutter.Pass the parked vehicle in a wide sweep (see
figure 1).
WARNING
ALWAYS TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE OTHER TRAFFIC WHEN USING THE SWEEPER.WHEN CARRYING OUT WORK WITH THE SWEEPER, ALWAYS
DEPLOY THE ASSOCIATED WARNING SIGNALS.
• When sweeping around a right-angled outside corner, the quickest and most straightforward manner is to firstly drive straight ahead a little, make a three-quarter
turn and then return to the original direction of travel at a right-angle (see figure 2).
• In heavy traffic, when sweeping a right-angled outside corner, it is better to follow the bend a little, then reverse slightly and sweep forwards following the bend
again ("going in twice").(see figure 3)
