F. 7.8 Checking the engine coolant level

Check the engine coolant level whilst the hopper is tipped up.
F. 7.8.1 Checking the coolant:
• The engine must be cold or must have cooled down sufficiently (temperature below 30° C)
• Carefully unscrew the radiator cap (2)
• Visually inspect the coolant level.It should be approximately 3 cm below the filler opening.Use a funnel or a can to add the required quantity of coolant (see
"Technical specifications" for the correct type of coolant)
WARNING
SINCE THE COOLANT IS HOT AND MAY BE UNDER PRESSURE, YOU MUST WAIT AT LEAST AN HOUR AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE BEFORE
PERFORMING WORK ON THE COOLING SYSTEM.COOLANT CAN BE AGGRESSIVE AND MAY CAUSE STAINS.WEAR SUITABLE GLOVES AND
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
• Screw the cap (2) back on
• Once the engine oil level and the coolant level have been checked and, if necessary, topped up, remove the safety brackets and lower the hopper.
F. 7.9 Checking whether waste has collected in front of the intercooler
Check the front of the intercooler (1) to see whether any waste has collected there.
• Remove any waste that has collected there.
NOTE
IF THERE IS ANY WASTE BETWEEN THE INTERCOOLER AND THE RADIATOR, CONTACT YOUR SERVICE DEALER AND HAVE HIM REMOVE THE
WASTE.A CONTAMINATED RADIATOR LOSES ITS COOLING CAPACITY!
