When to perform calibration
Printer calibration
Printer calibration by the user is required:
• When the printer calibration required icon
• When temperature or humidity significantly changes
• After a service visit, for example, after drum or corona replacement
If there is uneven density in the color planes, it is best to perform an additional [Shading
correction] procedure.
For color critical jobs, it is best to perform an additional [Auto gradation adjustment] procedure.
Media family calibration
Media family calibration is required:
• Initially for the existing coated and uncoated media families
• When a new media family is created
• After a service visit, for example, after drum or corona replacement
For color critical jobs, it is best to perform media family calibration.
NOTE
For coated media, it is best to perform media family calibration regularly.
CMYK curve adjustment
In exceptional cases, CMYK curve manual adjustment is required to adjust the:
• CMYK curves
• Density
• Contrast
• Clip the color ranges at the upper and lower area of the color curves ([Advanced mode]).
