FRONT DRIVING MECHANISM
When the gear set,
differential bearing,
differential housing
and/or gear case
has been replaced,
use a 2.00 mm
(0.079 in) thick
shim for initial
reference.
Be careful not to
damage the oil seal
lips in the final
clutch.
Be sure to wear
heavy gloves to
avoid burns when
handling the heated
final clutch case.

PINION GEAR INSTALLATION
Install the shim and new bearing onto the pinion
gear.
Press the pinion bearing onto the pinion gear.
TOOLS:
Driver, 40 mm I.D.
Attachment, 30 mm I.D.
Press the pinion gear/bearing assembly into the
front final clutch using the special tools.
TOOLS:
Universal bearing puller
Press attachment
U.S.A. only:
Heat the final clutch case to about 100°C (212°F).
Drop the pinion gear assembly into the heated final
clutch case.
Coat a new O-ring with grease and install it into the
groove in the front final clutch assembly.
