Enabling a PTZ Camera

Using Many PTZ Domes/Cameras On One Serial Communications Iine
If more than one PTZ camera share the same serial communications line, make a note of:
The address set on each camera.
The driver needed for the make and model of dome. If the domes require different
drivers, they cannot share the same port/serial communications line.

Continue or start a
Maintenance Session
2.
Click the Video tab. Select the PTZ camera from the list of cameras.

Click PTZ (see
Figure

Select the Enable box. The PTZ boxes and the PTZ controller become available. The
Enable box is not available if a PTZ serial device is not assigned. To assign a PTZ
device, see
Assigning and Configuring a New PTZ Device

Select a driver that matches a PTZ camera. Drivers are listed in

If more than one PTZ camera is sharing the device, select a Camera Address that
matches the address set on the dome hardware.
7.
Select the Port Attributes of the dome: Data Bits, Stop Bits, Baud Rate and Parity.
8.
Select the position that a PTZ camera takes after a View operator closes a Live
Session. Consult your security officer before changing the When Live/Response Ends
value. See

9.
Cameras that have a command menu can be set up using the Camera Menu button.
Use the dartboard control or the rubber band control to choose a command. Use the
Select button to change a value. The PTZ controls are explained in
on page 96.
