Backup Setup (Cont.)
USB Slave
The USB Slave and USB Master settings are adjusted using
your remote, a flash drive or USB cord and a laptop.
The keys supplied with your unit have the following reference
numbers on them (see Figure 3). You will have a set of either two
keys or three keys, depending on your DVR:
Version 1 (3 keys)
1. Small: 1102
2. Medium: 905
3. Large: 07
Version 2 (2 keys)
1. Medium: 905
2. Large: 07
1. Using the supplied keys, remove the front cover from the
Hybrid Quest™ by turning the medium-sized key
(905) clockwise.
Connect a standard USB cord from your laptop to the USB

Slave Port on the Hybrid Quest™ (see Figure 4).
3. If there is no monitor available to view setup menus, point
the remote at the Hybrid Quest™. Press the Rewind button
(located under the plus button) twice, and ENTER button
once (see Figure 5). You will hear a connection tone between
the Hybrid Quest™ and your laptop.
4. If there is a monitor available to view setup menus, use
the arrow buttons on the remote to navigate to the Backup
Setup feature from the Main Menu and press ENTER. From
the Backup Setup menu, select the USB Slave feature using
the arrow buttons on the remote, and press ENTER. To
select Run next to the USB Slave-1 feature (see Figure 6),
press ENTER again. You will hear three connection beeps
from the Hybrid Quest™.
5. A distinct computer tone will sound to alert you that it
recognizes the Hybrid Quest™ hard drive.
