RS485 Termination and Wiring Switch SW5
For the RS485 daisychain wiring, the data cable shield/screen should be carried
through all units by connecting the cable shields together. Connect the cable shield
at the control unit.
The factory RS485 termination default is unterminated. RS485 communication is terminated
using switch SW5.
• One pair of shielded twisted pair RS485 wire or one pair of unshielded twisted pair
wire can be used for RS485 data.
• The data lines can be daisychain wired (see
Daisychain wiring consists of up to 32 domes per data run with the control output at
either end of the run. The last dome on the end of the data run must be terminated
and all intermediate domes unterminated.
Note Each RS485 port on the HDCC8TP must be treated individually as if each one
is on a separate piece of equipment.
