Replacing the control panel adapter card

To replace the control panel adapter card:

Make sure that the positive (+) side of the new battery is facing the correct direction, then
press the new battery into the socket until it snaps into place.
Follow the instructions in
Restart your server, then press F2 at any time after you see the LEDs on your keyboard
flash or turn off. The BIOS Setup utility opens.
Restore any BIOS settings that you wrote down in
Save all your settings and close the BIOS Setup utility.
Caution
Your server must be operated with a control panel in place.
Follow the instructions in
that you turn off the server, then unplug the power cord(s) and all other cables connected
to the server.

Remove the fan duct and system fans by following the instructions in

44.
Remove the media cage by following the instructions in
drive" on page
33.
Loosen the thumbscrew (1) on the control panel adapter card, then pull the adapter card
(2) toward the back of the assembly to disengage the locking tabs.
Remove the control panel adapter card and store it in a static-free bag.
Holding the new control panel by the edges, align it with the locking tabs in the assembly,
then place it on the tabs and slide it toward the front of the assembly.
Tighten the thumbscrew to secure the control panel adapter card in the assembly.
Insert the media cage into the assembly bay in the chassis.
Secure the assembly by tightening the thumbscrew you previously loosened.
Connect the data and power cables to the back of the drives.
Reinstall the fan duct and system fans by following the instructions in
fans" on page 44.
