Dual Transport Mode

(Digidesign MachineControl with a 9-pin or MMC Device)
Dual Transport mode assigns the upper set of transport con-
trols to a 9-pin or MMC device using MachineControl.
In Dual Transport mode, you can toggle the transport mas-
ter between "Transport=Pro Tools" and "Transport = Ma-
chine," "Transport=MMC," or "Transport=Remote" directly
from the D-Control Transport switches.
In Single Transport mode, you toggle the transport master
between "Transport=Pro Tools" and "Transport = Machine,"
"Transport=MMC," or "Transport=Remote" using the Ma-
chine Online switch in the Transport Mode controls.
To toggle between Dual Transport mode and Single Transport
mode:
In the Soft Keys section, press the Operation switch repeat-

edly to display the page that includes "Transpt."
Press the Soft Key that corresponds to "Transpt" to toggle

the Transport mode between "Dual" and "Single."
Hold Control (Windows) or Command (Mac) and press the

Operation switch to exit.
Selecting the Transport Master in
Dual Transport Mode
In Dual Transport mode, either set of transport controls can be
active. The transport switches light to indicate the current
Transport Master:
• If the Pro Tools Transport switches are lit,
Transport = Pro Tools.
• If the Machine Transport switches are lit, the Transport Mas-
ter is one of the following:
• Transport = Machine
• Transport=MMC
• Transport=Remote
To select the Transport Master in Dual Transport mode:
Press the Machine Online switch in the Transport Mode
controls.

Do one of the following:
• When Transport = Pro Tools, press any unlit switch
(Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play, or Record) in the Ma-
chine Transport section.
• When Transport = Machine, MMC, or Remote, press any
unlit switch (Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play, or Record)
in the Pro Tools Transport section.
The first press of an unlit transport switch changes the Trans-
port Master and does not send a transport command. The sec-
ond press sends the transport command.
Selecting the Transport Master in
Single Transport Mode
In Single Transport mode, only the Pro Tools Transport con-
trols are active, and control the currently selected Transport
Master.
To select the Transport Master in Single Transport mode:
Press the Machine Online switch in the Transport Mode
controls.
Cycling through the Transport Master Choices
In both Single and Dual Transport modes, the
Machine Online switch is used to cycle the Transport Master
through the available choices (Pro Tools, Machine, MMC, and
Remote) from D-Control.
To cycle through available Transport Master choices:
Hold Start (Win) or Control (Mac) and repeatedly press the
Machine Online switch in the Transport Mode controls.
