Parameters
aging seconds: Sets an aging timer for dynamic MAC address entries, in the range of 10 to 1000000
seconds.
no-aging: Sets dynamic MAC address entries not to age.
Usage guidelines
After the network topology changes, the dynamic MAC address entries are not updated in a timely
manner. As a result, the device cannot learn new MAC addresses and fails to forward the user traffic
correctly.
To solve this problem, set an appropriate aging time for dynamic MAC address entries. The device
automatically deletes the expired dynamic MAC address entries, and then the device learns new MAC
address entries to build new MAC address entries.
Follow these guidelines to set the aging timer appropriately:
A long aging interval causes the MAC address table to retain outdated entries and fail to
accommodate the latest network changes.
