F-CODE COMMUNICATION

Normally, confidential communication and relay request transmission can only be performed if the other
machine is a Sharp machine that supports those functions. However, F-codes as established by the
ITU-T can be programmed in the machine to enable confidential communication and relay request
transmission with any other machine that supports those F-code functions.
By specifying an F-code (sub-address and passcode) that is programmed in the other machine, your
machine can perform F-code confidential communication (See page 89), F-code relay request
transmission (See page 90), and F-code polling (See page 91).
G
F-code communication is not possible if the other machine does not support F-code communication,
or it does not have an appropriate F-code memory box programmed.
G
To perform F-code transmission, you must first ask the operator of the receiving machine for the F-
code (sub-address and passcode). For F-code reception, you must inform the operator of the sending
machine of the F-code (sub-address and passcode).
G
F-codes (sub-addresses and passcodes) can be stored in rapid dial numbers, Speed Dial numbers,
and programs. F-codes cannot be stored in group keys.
G
A passcode can be omitted if not programmed in the other machine.

F-code Memory Boxes

F-code memory boxes are used for F-code transmission. F-code memory boxes are programmed using
one of three key operator programs depending on the function.
Programming F-code confidential boxes (See page 166)
Programming F-code relay group boxes (See page 167)
Programming F-code memory polling boxes (See page 167)
The information programmed in each box varies depending on the F-code function.
Using F-code Transmission (F-code Confidential
Transmission and F-code Relay Request Transmission)
When using F-code confidential transmission or F-code relay request transmission, it is not possible to
specify the transmission method.
F-code transmission is used as a general term for F-code confidential transmission and F-code relay
request transmission.
