• Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.
• See the Parts Listing, TD200x Machine Types 3719, 3821, 3822, and 3823 to determine which
components are customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units
(FRU).
• If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by

Look at the system service label on the top of the server, which gives an overview of internal
components that correspond to the LEDs on the EasyLED panel. This information can often provide
enough information to diagnose the error.
3. Remove the server cover and look inside the server for lit LEDs. Certain components inside the server
have LEDs that are lit to indicate the location of a problem. The following illustration shows the LEDs
on the system board.
Description
A microprocessor has failed,
or an invalid microprocessor
configuration is installed.
Note: (Trained service technician
only) Make sure that the
microprocessors are installed
in the correct sequence.
The IMM detects an internal error.
Action
a. Check the system-event log to determine the
reason for the lit LED.
b. Determine whether the CNFG LED is also lit. If the
CNFG LED is not lit, a microprocessor has failed.
1) Make sure that the failing microprocessor,
which is indicated by the CPU1 or CPU2
error LED on the system board, is installed
correctly.
2) Replace the following components one at a
time, in the order shown, restarting the server
each time:
a) (Trained service technician only) Failing
microprocessor
b) (Trained service technician only) System
board
3) If the CNFG LED is lit and the CPU mismatch
LED on the system board is also lit, an invalid
microprocessor configuration is installed:
a) Make sure that the microprocessors
are compatible with each other. They
must match in speed and cache size.
Use the Setup utility to compare the
microprocessor information.
b) (Trained service technician only) Replace
the incompatible microprocessor.
a. Disconnect the server from ac power; then,
reconnect the server to power and restart the
server.
b. Update the IMM firmware.
