CHAPTER 5 PICK-UP/FEEDING SYSTEM

1. Outline

The copy paper inside the cassette is lifted by the lifter so that it remains in contact
with the pick-up roller.
When the pick-up clutch (CL10, CL12) turns ON, the pick-up roller rotates to pick-up
copy paper. Then, the pick-up roller releasing solenoid (SL11, SL12) turns ON so that
the pick-up roller leaves the paper.
The copy paper then reaches the feeding roller and the separation roller, which
serves to make sure that only one sheet of copy paper is fed forward; then, the vertical
path roller operates to send the copy paper to the registration roller.
The registration roller serves to control the copy paper so that its leading edge and
the leading edge of the image on the photosensitive drum match.
