Servicing Published Shared Assemblies
Shared assemblies can be serviced (altered) after publishing to update them as necessary. This is accomplished
using a publisher configuration, which overrides default configurations specified in the manifest.
For an exhaustive discussion of how to service shared assemblies, refer to the article
Isolated Applications and Side-by-Side Assemblies for Windows XP
(msdn.microsoft.com).
Application Isolation Wizard Reference
The Application Isolation Wizard scans Windows Installer packages (.msi) or merge modules (.msm) and isolates
applications within them. Isolation ensures that applications always use the specific shared and support files with
which they were installed. This prevents the overwriting of previous versions of shared components, and ensures
that other applications do not overwrite the versions of shared and support files required by your application.
