About Microsoft Operating System Patches
Each month, Microsoft releases patches to address security vulnerabilities that are discovered in Microsoft
operating system software. Microsoft defines security vulnerabilities as:
"A flaw in a product that makes it infeasible – even when using the product properly—to prevent an attacker from
usurping privileges on the user's system, regulating its operation, compromising data on it, or assuming ungranted
trust."
Microsoft publishes a monthly Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary that lists the patches released that month. You
can view these bulletins on the
