You can verify and, if necessary, modify the media le system (SNFS) con guration le and still
keep your media le system intact if you carefully follow the steps in this procedure.
As an alternative to manually modifying the con guration le, if you need to make a new le system
after upgrading K2 software, the required values are set automatically by the upgraded version of
Storage Utility.
This task applies to the following devices:
K2 Solo Media Servers and stand-alone K2 Summit Production Clients. This includes internal
storage and direct-connect storage K2 Summit Production Clients.
NOTE: Make sure the write lter is disabled.
1. On a stand-alone K2 system, using Notepad, open the media le system (SNFS) con guration
le:

3. Close, and if necessary save, the SNFS con guration le.
If you made changes, the K2 system must be restarted for the changes to take effect.
The restart later in this upgrade procedure is suf cient to put the changes into effect.

Uninstall K2 software from stand-alone K2 system

1. Disable the write lter, if not already disabled.

While a restart is required after installing K2 Client software, you can delay the restart until after
other tasks are complete.
