Managing the write filter

The following topics describe the K2 Summit Production Client and K2 Solo Media Client write
lter.
About the write filter
The K2 Summit Production Client and K2 Solo Media Server have a le-based write lter, which
is a feature of the Windows embedded operating system. With the write lter enabled, les can be
created, modi ed, and deleted, but these changes are held in a memory cache. When the K2 system
restarts, these changes are lost and the K2 system returns to its original state. This protects the K2
system from changes and increases on-air reliability. For any system con guration change the write
lter must be disabled otherwise changes are lost at the next restart.
