Detachable
The microscope can be equipped with different detachable reflected or fluorescence light sources.
Light Sources
The optical radiation risk group according to IEC 62471 for those detachable light source ranges
from risk group 2 to risk group 3. They will all degrade to risk group 0 or risk group 1 while inte-
gration into the system. Optical radiation may cause damage to the skin and eyes.

2.3.1 Mechanical Hazards

Make sure the microscope is switched off while assembling/disassembling the light sources.
Avoid exposure of eyes and skin to radiation.
Only use the handle, if applicable, for transport of the microscope. Otherwise hold the micro-
scope with one hand and the base plate with the other hand.
Detachable mains supply cords must not be replaced with inadequately rated cords.
Disconnect all power cords before cleaning.
Only connect electrical systems that are authorized by ZEISS to the supplied power supply
cord.
Set up and operate the microscope so that the connectors are easily accessible.
