In addition to installing the Windows Server 2003 software, you also need to have a database of users
for authentication purposes. The Windows IAS implementation of RADIUS can use the following:
Active Directory (recommended)

A Windows NT domain
●
The local Security Accounts Manager (SAM)
●
To add IAS to the Windows Server 2003 installation:
Windows desktop
1 Select Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Add or remove programs.
2 In the left column, click Add/Remove Windows Components. The Windows Components Wizard
window appears, as shown in the following figure.

3 Select the Networking Services check box.
