Installation This chapter describes the Sentriant chassis architecture, instructions for mounting the chassis in a standard four-post (front-mount) and a two-post (mid-mount) system racks and cabling. Sentriant Chassis Architecture This section describes the physical description of the chassis, the front panel, and rear panel features. Physical Description The Sentriant is housed in a 2-RU chassis (18-inches (45.72-cm) length, 17.25-inches (43.81-cm) wide, and 3.5-inches (8.89-cm) high.

Back Panel Features Figure 2 shows the back panel. The back panel of the Sentriant has the following: On/Off Switch ● USB Port ● AC Power Connector ● A. On/Off switch B. USB port C. AC Power connector Figure 2: Back Panel Features Rack Installation This section describes ventilation requirements, installing the chassis bracket hardware, mounting the chassis in standard front mount rack, mounting the chassis in a mid-mount rack and cabling instructions.
Installation CAUTION Do not place a monitor or other object on top of the Sentriant chassis. The chassis bracket hardware is not designed to support the additional weight of objects other than the Sentriant chassis. WARNING! If you are installing more than one Sentriant in a rack, always install the first Sentriant in the lowest available position in the rack.
Installing Chassis Bracket Hardware Use a Cross (Phillips) screwdriver to attach the L-shaped brackets to the sides of the chassis. Contents of Bracket Mounting Kit A. Screws, #6-32 x 1/4-inch (qty. 6) B. L-shaped mounting brackets (qty. 2) Figure 3: Mounting Bracket Kit Contents NOTE Use the cage nuts and screws supplied by the rack manufacturer to mount the Sentriant chassis in standard two- post or four-post racks.

Front-Mount Installation in Four-Post Racks To install Sentriant in a standard front mount, four-post rack, perform the following steps: CAUTION Lifting the Sentriant and attaching it to the rack is a two-person job. The dual-processor Sentriant weighs approximately 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms). 1 Determine the mounting location for the Sentriant chassis and install the clip-on or snap-in cage nuts supplied by the rack manufacturer into the front posts.
Installation Mid-Mount Installation in Two-Post Racks Perform the following steps to install the Sentriant into a standard two-post, mid-mount rack. CAUTION Lifting the Sentriant and attaching it to the rack is a two-person job. The Sentriant weighs approximately 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms).
Cabling Instructions This section describes the principles of cabling the Sentriant with a BlackDiamond 10K Series Switch with one G60T I/O module installed. This section is not intended to discuss all deployment scenarios but rather describes the function and connectivity. NOTE The following deployment scenario describes the default configuration for a G60T I/O module with a single untagged VLAN.
