The chassis bracket hardware is not designed to support the additional weight of objects other than the Sentriant chassis. WARNING! If you are installing more than one Sentriant in a rack, always install the first Sentriant in the lowest available position in the rack. -

Front-Mount Installation in Four-Post Racks To install Sentriant in a standard front mount, four-post rack, perform the following steps: CAUTION Lifting the Sentriant and attaching it to the rack is a two-person job. The dual-processor Sentriant weighs approximately 30 pounds (13.6 kilograms). 1 Determine the mounting location for the Sentriant chassis and install the clip-on or snap-in cage nuts supplied by the rack manufacturer into the front posts. -

Start-Up and Initial Configuration This chapter contains instructions for the start-up and initial configuration of the Extreme Networks Sentriant. Initial Configuration Via the Serial Port You must perform the initial configuration of the Sentriant using the serial port connection on the front of the chassis. - Page 28 Start-Up and Initial Configuration NOTE If you are performing a software upgrade or have Sentriant Manager previously installed on the Sentriant, you will be asked to enter a password. 1 Insert the CD and follow the on-screen instructions for installing the Sentriant Manager. 2 Bring up a web browser and enter the URL for the Extreme Networks Support site. Follow the instructions for downloading and installing the Sentriant Manager. - Page 35 Sentriant Manager can be started in a demonstration mode for training and to review the software. By double- clicking three times on the Extreme Logo, the Sentriant Manager does not connect to a Sentriant and runs locally. Demo mode can be run with training data or without.
