Cleaning the Q00 Ion Optics

Disassembling the Ion Optics Cage Assembly

The Q00 RF lens and L0 lens must be removed from the ion optics cage assembly before they can
be cleaned.
Note Make careful note of the proper orientation of all wiring before removing any electrical
lead from its contact
Note Wear clean gloves when you handle the ion optics components.
1. Using a hex ball driver, remove the three screws that fasten the Q0 mount assembly to the ion
2. Remove the Q0 mount assembly. Place it on a clean, lint-free surface.
3. Using needle nose pliers, disconnect the two RF lead wires from the Q00 lead pins.
4. Carefully push the Q00/L0 mount assembly out of the ion optics cage by pressing on the
