4.3 Weld Mode Settings
Weld modes can be further fine-tuned by adjusting various settings to a range of values,
depending on your application.
4.3.1 How to Select Weld Mode Settings
Select weld mode settings by first pressing the appropriate key
(ENERGY/TIME)
on the
Status sub-panel on the front panel, then on the Control sub-panel press the appropriate
sm.Fcr key (Top/Middle/Bottom) to make minimum and 25% adjustments or press the
UP
/ DOWN
arrow keys to make finer adjustments.
Refer to the individual Weld Mode descriptions that follow for exact details for each
mode.
4.3.2 How to Select and Set Individual Mode Settings
a. TIME Mode Settings
TIME
Mode controls the length of time ultrasonic power is applied to the part. This time
starts after the actuator's trigger conditions (Pretrigger (vrs) or Trigger (TRs)) have been
met. Refer to 4.4 Weld System Settings - sub-menus, for information on setting these
triggers.
In
TIME
Mode, you can make a weld cycle using Time, or you can enhance your weld
with other settings, such as Energy and Peak Power limits. The following table lists these
settings and includes the settable ranges for each. It also includes the default setting,
which is how your unit will arrive from the factory. In addition, the table indicates
whether the setting can be disabled.
