4.2 Weld Modes
Weld modes are settings that allow you to fine tune the weld cycle to your specific
application. The table on this page lists the seven modes with a brief description of their
functions.
4.2.1 How to select weld modes
You can select weld modes in three ways: by pressing keys on the front panel, by
altering DIP switch S1 settings on the 900M, or through the Setup menus. The following
table describes the weld modes and indicates how you select them.

TIME
Press the
TIME
key in the
Status section of the front
panel.
Controls the length of time ultrasonic
power is applied to the part after
trigger conditions are met.
ENERGY
Press the ENERGY key in
the Status section of the
front panel.
Controls the amount of energy to be
applied to the part after trigger
conditions are met.
Time Energy
Compensated
(TEc)
Press the TIME and ENERGY
keys at the same time.
Adds extended weld time capability to
reach Energy —Limit.
Continuous
Sonics
Set DIP Switch S1 (see
Figure 3-24)
Allows you to run externally
controlled ultrasonic power. (No
solenoid valve output is provided.)
Handgun
Set DIP Switch S1 (see
Figure 3-24)
Allows you to run a handgun in TIME,
ENERGY or TEC modes. (No solenoid
valve output is provided.)
Peak Power
Access through the Setup
Menu
Ends the weld when a preset power
level is reached.
Distance
Access through the Setup
Menu
Ends the weld when a preset distance
level is reached.
