If you have a 94A0 Actuator or a custom actuator or device, you may receive an error
message for us, Ths, yrs, or as switches. Make a note of the error message(s) and
proceed as follows:
Step Action
1. Turn off your equipment.
2. On the 900M front panel, press and hold the
SETUP
key.
3.
Turn on the power switch and hold the
SETUP
key until "SETUP" displays.
4.
Release the
SETUP
key and press and release the
PRINT
key.
You have now reached the Setup Menu and can change key settings for any active
switches. Refer to Section 4.4, Weld System Settings, for further instructions on using the
Setup Menu.
4.5.3 Running the Self

Diagnostic/Initialization Procedure
When you turn on the 900M, it performs a self-diagnostic or initialization procedure. As
part of this procedure, it checks for attached peripheral equipment. Peripheral equipment
must be turned on first to be properly recognized by the 900M.
When the 900M diagnostics end, an operating status message displays in the
VF
display.
This message indicates either that the 900M is in
READY
state, ready to operate, or that
there is a problem to be resolved before operating the 900M. If there is an error message,
refer to Appendix G: "Messages" for an explanation of these error/fault messages.
If a message indicates a problem of connectivity, refer to Section 3 for information about
installing and connecting system components. Refer to the External Communications
Interface (ECI-1) Instruction Manual and the 900AES/AOS Series Actuators Operator's
and Maintenance Manuals for specific information about these products.
4.5.4 Starting a 900M for More Experienced Users
Start the system as described above, depending on your equipment. If you wish to bypass
the diagnostics routine, press
RESET.
4.5.5 Starting and Performing a Weld Cycle for a First Time User
Note:
Push the
EMERGENCY STOP
button to terminate the weld cycle at any time. This
causes the carriage to retract and ultrasonic energy to shut off. Pull out the E-
STOP to return the 900M to
READY.
