HOW TO OPERATE THE SDI TIME CODE MASTER
The 8010TM-IRIG is a special purpose time code generator/reader designed to read IRIG-B code
commonly in use within the United States government agencies and supporting private industries. The
model 8010TM-IRIG SDI Time Code Master combines the latest LSI technology with sophisticated
microcontroller firmware to provide a powerful, flexible Serial Digital Video Time Code Master.

AN OVERVIEW OF KEY AND DISPLAY FUNCTIONS
The display area consists of a 16 digit alphanumeric display, 8 LED status indicators and a 16
pushbutton keypad.
The keypad is used to control the front panel menu system, to set the generator time and user bits,
position the character display windows, and to provide control of the front panel display. When the
SHIFT key is held down, the meanings of some of the keys are modified, gaining quick access to a
wider variety of functions. (Throughout this manual SHIFT + indicates that you should hold down the
SHIFT key while pressing the second key.)

for your application.

3.1.1. The Setup Pushbutton Group
The Setup key group consists of the SELECT, SETUP and
the front panel programming menu system, and to position character windows.
SETUP
Enters the Setup mode that is used to set up various modes of operation. Pressing
SETUP again while in this mode exits the Setup mode. (See also section 3.3)
SHIFT + SETUP Enters the Engineering Setup mode that is used to set up various items that are
normally only required during installation.
SELECT
When in the Setup mode the SELECT key is used to activate/deactivate sub menus from
the drop down menu
